Lightweight Long-Range Performance: Silverback TAC-41 Polymer Sport FDE

The Silverback TAC-41 Polymer Sport FDE is a lightweight bolt-action airsoft sniper rifle designed to give players the performance and adjustability of the TAC-41 platform without the weight of a traditional full-metal build. With its PA6 glass-fibre reinforced polymer receiver and stock, aluminium bolt assembly and 510mm precision inner barrel, the Polymer Sport weighs just around 2.4kg with its magazine fitted.

Despite its lightweight construction, this is far from a basic sniper rifle. The TAC-41 Sport features Silverback’s adjustable TDC hop-up system with 50 indexed positions, a 41cc cylinder volume, adjustable two-stage trigger, quick-change bolt system and compatibility with standard APS 13mm springs. The FDE finish also gives it a distinctive modern appearance that works particularly well with woodland and mixed-terrain loadouts.

The “Pro” Take

The biggest selling point of the TAC-41 Polymer Sport is simple: you get a serious sniper platform without having to carry a nearly 3kg rifle around all day. At approximately 2.4kg with the magazine fitted, it is significantly easier to manoeuvre through woodland, move between positions and carry alongside your other kit.

Silverback has also avoided treating the Polymer Sport as a stripped-back budget rifle. The TDC hop-up, 50-position adjustment system, adjustable trigger, quick-change bolt and 41cc air volume give the rifle plenty of scope for tuning and optimisation as your experience with the platform develops.

The use of an AEG-type hop rubber is another practical touch. Rather than requiring an unusual proprietary rubber, the TAC-41 Sport uses a readily recognisable format, making future maintenance and tuning more straightforward for experienced players and technicians.

UK Airsoft Use

The TAC-41 Polymer Sport is particularly well suited to woodland and outdoor sniper gameplay, where its low weight and long 510mm inner barrel can be put to good use. The high Picatinny rail also gives plenty of clearance for a suitable magnified optic.

Power output will depend on the spring fitted, ammunition, hop-up setting and individual rifle. The supplied spring configuration is designed around regional regulations, so always chrono the rifle before playing and make sure its actual output complies with the limits of your chosen UK site.

For sniper use, heavier BBs are generally worth considering. The TAC-41’s adjustable TDC hop-up gives you the ability to tune the rifle for your chosen ammunition, with BB weights around 0.32g to 0.40g+ commonly considered for this type of platform. The ideal BB weight will depend on the rifle’s actual power, hop performance and your particular site rules.

Designed Around the Player

The TAC-41 Polymer Sport is fully ambidextrous, making it a particularly flexible platform for players who regularly change firing positions. The bolt handle, magazine catch, safety, cheek pad adjustment and hop-up controls are all designed with ambidextrous operation in mind.

The stock also provides useful adjustment straight out of the box. Length can be increased by 0, 1, 2 or 3cm using the supplied configuration, with additional adjustment available through optional parts. There are also four QD sling points and multiple M-LOK slots for configuring the rifle around your preferred loadout.

Friendly FAQ

What spring does the TAC-41 Polymer Sport use?
