The BR Airsoft Pro Take

The Umarex Glock G17 GEN5 by VFC is a strong option for players who want a realistic, officially licensed Glock replica rather than a generic pistol design. Its metal slide, polymer frame and authentic Gen5 styling give it the look and handling expected from this familiar full-size sidearm.

The gas blowback action adds to the experience, while the adjustable hop-up gives you scope to tune the pistol for your preferred BB weight. The integrated accessory rail also makes it easy to build the pistol around a compatible light or other suitable accessory.

For a skirmisher looking for a realistic backup pistol, or a Glock enthusiast adding a licensed replica to their collection, the G17 GEN5 is a compelling choice.

UK Airsoft Use

Before using the G17 GEN5 at a skirmish site, check the site’s pistol limits and chronograph requirements. Gas type, temperature, BB weight and the specific production version can all affect measured performance, so never assume a particular FPS figure without testing your pistol.

In the UK, the purchase of a black realistic imitation firearm may require an applicable defence under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006. If you do not have a valid defence, ask about an appropriate two-tone option before ordering.

Care and Maintenance

Use good-quality 6mm airsoft BBs and the gas recommended for your version of the pistol. Keep the magazine and valves clean, inspect seals regularly, and follow the manufacturer’s guidance for lubrication and storage.

Do not force the slide or magazine into place, and do not dismantle or modify the gas system unless you understand the manufacturer’s instructions. Regular, sensible maintenance helps keep a gas blowback pistol operating reliably.
